The area is specially designated for tourist development by the Turkish Government

A new marina was built in 2009, which has transformed the area and will make Didim the number one destination on the Aegean Coast' says Mumin Kamaci Mayor of Didim.
A new ferry terminal linking the town to the Greek Islands is already in place, and will be ideal for those duty free trips.
The area is easily accessible from both Bodrum and Izmir airports which are served by 22 UK airports.
Proposed Golf Courses for the Altinkum area
There are three proposed Golf Courses/Clubs around the Altinkum area which have all gone out to tender. One is planned for the Marina area, one will be in Akbuk and the other will be towards the Akbuk Road.
All of these planned Golf Courses will help boost property prices in the area.
