ABOUT ALTINKUM

Altinkum means Golden Sands and with its 3 sandy and clean beaches it is fast becoming one of the top tourist locations for British people to purchase property in Turkey.

Today Altinkum is a rapidly growing holiday resort completely different than what it used to be 10-15 years ago, welcoming a population of tourists with its beautiful beaches, ancient towns, culture and warm climate.

The magnificent Temple of Appollo is the main historical attraction for Didim and Altinkum. Here you can explore the well preserved archeological sites of the Roman Empire including The Celsius Library and The Grand Theatre which attract thousands of tourists each year.

Altinkum has plenty of shops for all the family. The local market (bazaar) is held in Didim every Saturday, which is only 5 minutes from Altinkum

Altinkum can be as lively or laid back as you make it. As the sun sets over the Aegean, Altinkum becomes a hive of activity. There are a great selection of waterfront bars open until the early hours.
The harbour and Dolphin Square is lined with lively venues and is a popular choice with holiday makers as there is something to suit everybody.
Altinkum has an abundance of late night bars and clubs including the exclusive open air night club Medusa with live D.J’s playing the latest dance sounds and with laser shows every night you can dance under the stars until sunrise.
Alternatively for those who prefer a more relaxed atmosphere, equally charming bars and restaurants can be found around the resort offering good food and never failing hospitality.

The Dolmus is the local form of transport, these run on a specific route costing approximately 1 YTL to travel. This is a very economical way to get around and they run every few minutes. If taxis are the more preferred form of transport then agree on a price before you travel.

Why Buy in Altinkum/Turkey
Turkish Golden Sands specialise in property for sale in Altinkum as property prices are significantly lower than the more developed areas of Turkey and still represents incredible value for money.

The area has been specially designated for tourist development by the Turkish Government. The building of a $50 million marina has commenced for completion in 2009 and is to be the largest marina in Turkey. A new ferry terminal linking the town to the Greek Islands is already in place.
A golf course is planned near the new marina along with 2 other golf courses in the area, – the first one is scheduled to be built in 2008
Extensive improvements to the local infrastructure are already underway, halving the travel time to the nearest airport (Bodrum, currently 1hour 15minutes). There are numerous plans for the area including a 7 star hotel, a cinema, a new shopping centre and a Tesco Supermarket.

Prices are still low – 1 bedroom apartments from £19,000 and 2 bedroom apartments from £27,000
Land prices have doubled in the last 2 years in the most popular areas and property prices have risen by 25% to 40% in the last year alone.

Turkey is expecting to join the European Union soon and high capital growth is set to continue. Purchasing property in Turkey is now very easy as Turkish mortgages became available in 2007
